(not so) Little Lili

Lili came into the world on the 18th of December, 2004.

It wasn't the easiest of births... a few complications led to an emergency caesarean, but she came out 100% perfect (besides the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck, chest and abdomen.)

Since then, she's been a little bugger! :)

A delightful bugger at times, and a stubborn bugger the rest of the time. Hahahaha. No, she's lovely :D

Before Lili, I'd always regarded children as annoying, loud, smelly, preposterous creatures that needed to be quiet and unseen. But since having Lili, I've realised that children are annoying, loud, smelly, preposterous creatures that should be allowed to develop of their own free-will, unimpeded. Well... I say that... but of course I impede quite often, if I think something bad's going to happen. :)

Raising Lili

I thank my lucky stars that I met Dorthe and ended up in Denmark. Before I moved here and discovered all about the proper way of raising kids, my ethos on child-rearing was; "You can do it with a smack, or without a smack."

When I look back on that old adage of mine, I feel so ashamed. Yet, that is how I would have handled my kids if I'd stayed in England. This saying, while perhaps not actually carried out by many, is representative of parents' attitudes towards child-rearing in England.

Without repeating what I wrote here, I just need to say that; I love Denmark :)
