Brisbane : Australia
Ok. Something has happened that has never happened to me before. Ever. I got a valentines card. I woke up this morning, and noticed something on the floor by the door, and on closer inspection it turned out to be a hand-made valentines card. Addressed to me!!!! I read it in disbelief. And re-read it. and re-read it. and re-read it. And read it again just to make sure. And again just for the hell of it. This is what it said:
When we met on the roof my heart skipped a beat,
Just thinking of you dancing on the dancefloor makes my knees go weak,
So lets meet on the dancefloor at 10pm on the 14th.
Love, A.</tt>
Exactly. I was amazed too. Me? Making someone's heart skip a beat? Making knees go weak? Surely this person has me confused with someone else! I'm incapable of such acts! After the shocked amazement subsided, I started to think about who it could be. Immediately one person springs to mind... Jenny. Even though it's signed A that could be for Anonymous. I met Jenny on the roof the night I taught her how to do the crossover with the firechains. And lastnight we were dancing. And more than dancing... So it has to be her. Bargain! Can't wait for 10pm tonight! :) Maybe we'll get to kiss after all...However, as the day progresses it becomes aparrent that it's not Jenny after all. Well, she denies it was her. But she might be playing a game maybe!? We'll soon see. Anyway, a few of us went to the town hall and tried to climb the clocktower, but it was closed. Damn! That's the 2nd time that's happened now. So instead we queue at a bus stop to take a trip up to Mount Coot-tha. A big hill that overlooks Brisbane. However, the bus service there stops after 3pm, and it's now 5:30. Bugger! So instead me, Stu and Jen go to the cinema while the others head back to the hostel. We ended up watching Mullholland Drive. What an incredibly bizarre movie that was. Absolutely astonighingly bizarre. It made absolutely no sense until afterwards some guy who overheard us talking about it came over and explained. Then it started to make sense... Then it changed... Then it was an incredible movie. Spoiler coming up, so if you intend to see this movie, skip the next few lines... Basically, the movie is in 3 parts. The first 2 parts are the main character's dreams. 2 Different dreams. The 3rd part is the real part. Only when you know this does it make any coherent sense. It's the sort of movie you need to watch several times to make sense of it... After all it is by David Lynch. After the movie, we went for food, and to my utter dismay, by the time we got back to the hostel and I got changed, it was 10:10pm. Rushing down to the bar, I stand like a complete fool on an empty dancefloor, expecting Jenny to follow me onto the dancefloor and say "Gotcha!" or something. But no. So it's definitely not Jenny then. Bugger! Hmmm.... Interesting... So who can it be? A few days ago I met a Dutch girl called Anna. And we went up to the roof after I met her. And we were dancing together before we went up there. Hmmmm. Yes. In that case it must be Anna. What a result! If it is Anna... she's absolutely beautiful! Which immediately makes me think it can't be her. Hmmm. Most puzzling. Anyway... After spending 20 minutes looking like a complete freak on my own on the dancefloor dancing like a muppet to the worst selection of songs ever strung together in the history of the universe, (Hang the DJ!) it's obvious that I've bollocksed up my chances by being late. How the FUCK did I manage to be late?!?!? What an absolute muppet. **sigh**Anyway. Time for a few drinks... And that's where my memory gets hazy. Except for one point... I wrote a note and put it on the hostel noticeboard. It read:
"A" -
Plank was 10 minutes late. Do I get another chance?
Then I was in bed quite early. About 1am I reckon. What a bastard of a day!
